VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
Volunteers: Please DO NOT forget to sign in & out in the Volunteer Log Book. This allows Ms. Parker, Volunteer Liasion, to keep track of all volunteer hours for recognition purposes! This includes not only hours performed at the school but at home as well!! The book can be found next to the Secretary's desk when you walk in. Thanks!
Please send an email to volunteers@amspta.org if you need more information or if you would like to be added to the Wildcat Volunteer Database.

OFFICERS/CHAIRPERSONS NEEDED!
- The PTA is currently looking for parents who are interested in serving as officers/chairpersons for the upcoming school year. As of this writing, we have no one who is interested. If no one steps up to the plate, the PTA will cease to exist and this would be a very unfortunate thing to happen to our school. Please consider the possibility. Either email current president Lisa Reichnach at president@amspta.org or come to the Snack & Chat on Tuesday, 4-22 and talk with her in person. WE NEED PARENTS!!! Consider helping your children by stepping up to volunteer in the PTA next year.
- Volunteer Coordinator, Steve Fiorina, is stepping down after this year and is also looking for someone to take over his position and would be more than happy to help someone "learn the ropes". If you are interested, please contact Steve at amsvolunteers@yahoo.com.

WILDCAT VOLUNTEER BANK
Dear Families and Friends of Arundel Middle Students:
Welcome to the 2007-2008 school year here at AMS! Whether you are new to our school or a returning parent, AMS has a lot to offer our students and parents alike. There are many clubs and after school activities as well as various volunteer opportunities throughout the course of the school year.
What we have done this year is a little different from past years. We are creating a “Wildcat Volunteer Bank” which will contain the names, email addresses and phone numbers of you, the parents and friends of our students. You DO NOT have to commit to any particular volunteer need at this time, you simply give us your name, email address and phone number and when the teachers let us know that they are in need of parents/volunteers or the PTA has an upcoming event, we will simply send out a mass email (bcc) to the names we have entered into our volunteer database. If you are available and would like to volunteer for that particular event, you simply respond to the email and we in turn contact you. It is that simple!! We realize that it is hard to foresee what your schedule may be now for Beautification Day or the 8th grade dance, etc. This way, when the time comes, you have the freedom to choose if you wish to participate.
On the bottom of this form is a partial listing of volunteer needs that the teachers have given us as well as the events that the PTA will sponsor for this year along with a brief explanation of the volunteer opportunity. This will give you an idea of the wants and needs at AMS.
Also, please check our website frequently for updates relative to the school and PTA happenings. On here you will also find helpful links you can visit that can also benefit not only our school but you and your child as well.
We hope that you will join the PTA this year, by doing so you are not committing yourself to anything other than showing your support for all that we do—which is supporting all of the students here at AMS.
Thank you in advance and we look forward to seeing you around AMS this year!!
